I’m Kate Kirkby, a Bristol-based maternity photographer with a passion for creating calm, timeless maternity photos that celebrate this extraordinary chapter. With over a decade of experience photographing expectant mothers, I specialise in natural‑light maternity photoshoots — both in my relaxed studio in Pill and out in the beautiful woodlands and open spaces around Bristol and North Somerset. My approach is gentle and collaborative. I aim to put you at ease from our first conversation through to the delivery of your final images. Before your session we’ll have a pre‑session chat about locations, wardrobe and the look you’d like to achieve. Studio sessions offer elegant drapes, soft fabrics and a selection of scarfs I provide for flattering, classic bump portraits; outdoor sessions use soft golden‑hour light and the changing seasons to create emotive, natural images. I recommend booking around 34–37 weeks when your bump feels comfortable but still beautifully pronounced — though I’m happy to advise if your schedule is different. Partner and family portraits are welcomed and I’ll help you include children or a loved one in a way that feels relaxed and authentic. My sessions are unhurried so there’s time for breathing, movement, and the small moments that make maternity photography so personal. Stylistically I favour clean, understated images that let your connection and the form of pregnancy shine.
