I’m Allan, the specialist maternity photographer behind Keltic Rose Photography, based in Denton Holme, Carlisle. Since founding Keltic Rose in 2006 and with roots in documentary photography from the late 1980s, I’ve focused my craft on capturing the quiet strength and joy of pregnancy. Maternity is a core part of my work — not an add‑on — and I approach every session with patience, creativity and a desire to create timeless images you’ll treasure. My style balances natural, emotive moments with gentle, flattering posing. I aim to make sessions relaxed and enjoyable so you can focus on the experience rather than the camera. Before your shoot we discuss the look you want — classic, moody, soft and dreamy or modern and bold — and I work with you to pick dresses, backgrounds and simple props from my studio wardrobe to match your vision. Partners, children and well‑behaved pets are always welcome; including loved ones often makes the images more personal and meaningful. Practical care is at the heart of my process. The studio is kept comfortable and private, with a changing room and a selection of maternity dresses to suit different styles and body shapes. I’ll guide you through poses that flatter and feel natural, helping you relax and enjoy the session. If you prefer an outdoor location in the Carlisle or wider Cumbria area we can plan for that too — working with available light to create beautiful, authentic images. I encourage booking around 30–36 weeks when many mums feel their bump is beautifully defined, but timing is always tailored to how you’re feeling. After the session I carefully edit your images to bring out the emotion and detail, delivering high‑quality digital files and options for prints or heirloom products if you’d like them.
