I’m Sarah, owner of Sweet pea Photography, and maternity photography is at the heart of what I do. Based in my little studio in West View Barn overlooking Chelsham Common (Caterham/Warlingham area), I specialise in pregnancy photoshoots that are timeless, emotive and relaxed. My work is all about celebrating the wonder of carrying a child and creating images you’ll want to live with and pass down. My approach comes from years of working with small people and families — before photography I trained and worked as a professional nanny, so I’m totally unflappable around babies and parents. That same calm, reassuring energy guides every maternity session. I aim to put you at ease, help you feel beautiful and confident, and capture natural moments rather than forcing poses. The result is classic, elegant images that reflect your personality and the story of this special time. Sessions are collaborative: we’ll talk through the style you want and plan clothing, colours and any inclusion of a partner or older children. Many mums find maternity portraits work best around 30–36 weeks, but I’ll always tailor the timing to how you feel and how your bump looks. Whether you want soft, simple bump portraits, dramatic silhouettes, or a cosy family embrace, I’ll help you choose the look that feels right. I believe photographs should be seen big — printed and displayed — so my focus is on creating images that translate beautifully into wall art and keepsakes you’ll cherish.
