I’m Sam — a down-to-earth, talkative photographer based at Studio Eighteen in Droylsden, and maternity photography is one of my specialities. I love capturing the glow, emotion and quiet strength of pregnancy in a relaxed, supportive environment. I’ve run my studio for over ten years and have developed a gentle, conversational approach that helps even the most camera-shy mums-to-be feel comfortable and confident in front of the lens. My signature bump shoots are best scheduled around 32 weeks when you can still move and pose comfortably. Sessions take place at my bright, welcoming studio — a mix of natural light and studio-lit areas with white-wash wooden floors, a beaded corner and an infinity curve backdrop. I provide a selection of gowns and props to complement your vision, but I always listen first: whether you want a timeless, elegant portrait or something more creative and personal, we’ll plan it together. I also offer a Bump-to-Baby service that follows your journey from pregnancy to those first fragile newborn days. Newborn shoots can be held at the studio or in your home (home visits can be arranged and charges apply). I attended newborn training in 2017 and have two children of my own, so baby handling, patience and safety are at the heart of what I do. Newborn sessions aren’t rushed — we work at your baby’s pace to capture the tiny details, family moments and gentle connections. Working with me is simple and friendly. Before the shoot we’ll have a chat about styling, colours and any props you’d like to include. On the day you’ll find a relaxed space with a changing room, changing table, props area and refreshments — everything designed to make your session easy and enjoyable. I’m happy to advise on wardrobe, hair and little touches that make the images uniquely yours. Based in Droylsden with easy access from Guide Bridge and Manchester, I welcome clients from across the region and further afield.
